Introductory Unit
All my classes (AP Literature and English 3) will do this unit.
This unit entails a Canvas Scavenger hunt to determine the important parts of Canvas, an introduction to the Modern Language Association (MLA) format, how to write a CER (Claim, Evidence, Reasoning) paragraph, and how to compose a formal email. You'd be amazed how many people write illiterate emails when they attempt a formal one!
There is no textbook for this unit, but there are handouts and PowerPoints that will be posted here when we cover them. All assignments will be provided on Canvas and submitted through Canvas.

This is how I am presenting the CER paragraph format.

Knowing how to write a proper, formal email is essential in an age when email is the most commonly used form of professional communication.
